I have been thinking of what to blog about, so I decided some little tidbits about my kids is as good idea as any.
So Lincoln is talking, well hardly, but compared to 4 months ago he is a full on jabber mouth. I have been thinking about ALL the words he is saying now, at 21 months mind you, and here they are...... Ella(his very first word), mom, daddy, cheese(his favorite thing to eat!), kitty, bye(which is hardly understandable, but I know that is what he is saying) hallo, go, boo(like peek-a-boo) and I think that is it! So that would be about 9 words! While he doesn't speak practically anything he does understand a lot and he has perfected a super cute yes head shake! You gotta love how blasted cute he is!
Ella made me so proud on Sunday! She just entered Sunbeams in January and is a little over 3! It was their classes turn to do the talks, etc in Primary, which I was kinda surprised at cause they are still so little and new in there. But they did, so.... she signed herself up for a talk. I prepared the talk and made it super, super short cause I was for 100% sure I was going to be up at the podium reading it by myself. But she completely surprised me and repeated the whole thing, as I whispered it to her, into the microphone and loud enough for everyone to hear! I was soo proud of her. I couldn't believe it!!!!
And lastly our Carter, who is practically prefect in almost every way. The poor children younger than him have a high bar to reach!!!! But my little thing about him, and it could only happen in Utah, I swear, is...... His preschool teacher told me how on Wed. during class they were reviewing the number 16. And she asked what can you do at 16? And he responded 'drive a car'. And then she or he, I don't know exactly cause I didn't quite understand this part, said and what do you do at 8, half of 16, and he said get baptized. And then he said, 'I can't wait to go on my mission'! When I related this story to Matt, he told me how Carter had told him he didn't want to go on a mission where he couldn't speak English. He didn't want to learn dutch(knows this from the movie, Best Two Years) or Spanish.... Only English! At 5 to be thinking about such things, makes me smile!
So there you.... nothing too exciting, but Matt is always saying things like you should write that in your blog, sooo I did, for once!

Another Random Musing and Such.....
So I really need to blog more...... at least when I am sitting in front of the computer I can feel like I am doing something somewhat productive rather than staring at a screen like the bored, drone that I am. I feel like blogs should be for important, big things, which hardly ever happen to me, so I struggle with writing. But I think I have written all this before.... and it will probably not be my last, but I will write about some other random stuff below..
So, Matt has been out of town for the last several nights. My wonderful sister signed on to stay with me to help me stay sane, which was super wonderful! I am not sure what I have done without her. She was very kind to me and the kids. Matt went to the Mountain West tournament in Las Vegas. It was his guys trip- I had my girls trip a few weeks ago now.- Maybe one day I will blog about that. Anyways, I have hated having him gone and don't think I am going to be taking any girls trips anytime soon, so that he can't take any guys trip. I suppose he has had a nice time though.
After coming home from my trip, which my "all-day" sickness acted pretty decently, as long as as I ate constantly, I was put on my butt. I think the lack of good sleep and naps, and being much more active on the trip contributed to me feeling like total crap for the 3 days after I got home. But I went to the Dr. on Thurs. for my first official appt. I was ten weeks along then- 12 now! Yeah! And by the way, my due date is Sept 29! So three in Sept.! I am thinking group birthdays! Okay, I digress. So I told me dr. that the unisom B-6 thing wasn't working and she was kind enough to suggest Zofran, which has worked like a dream! It is a generic and cost me $5, but Matt said he would have paid $100 for the bottle, which only lasts 15 days by the way. But it has made me feel like a human being again. It has been wonderful! So as long as I get an afternoon nap, things are good in pregnancy land.
I have been released from my calling as Relief Society Secretary this past Sunday, which was kinda sad. I enjoyed working with the sisters and it really helped me get to know a lot of people quickly in the ward. So no one goes too long without a calling and so my new one is Nursery Worker! My first response was, "Are you kidding me?" Which Matt promptly said, "be nice" I was nice, I didn't swear! So I don't know 100% if I am going to a worker or not cause once I started crying the poor bishopric member, was like 'well, let me go back and talk to the bishop about it.' The initial shock has worn off now, and while I am not thrilled with the calling, I could do it if I must, until the baby is born! I said I would be done then.
All else is well. I do spend a lot of time wondering how much Obama is screwing up my kids future! but hey! What can I do? Spring if slowly coming! some of my tulips are coming up. did i even write how in the fall I planted over 180 tulips and some other kid of flower, which I can't remember. I also bought more bulbs this week for Dahlia's, which are like the most beautiful flower! I am a sucker for bulbs! We will see how they come up! Hopefully well! Not too much else that I can think of. Kids are well. Matt's fine.
I did have good visits this week from my friend, Cara, who was done here visiting from Boise. It is my first friend I have seen from Boise, since we have left. It is good to reconnect with old friends. It just made me feel good.. Also had dinner last Sunday with an even older friend, Meg Bair, who isn't Meg Bair anymore and hasn't been for sometime, but some names die hard! She is now Megan Buehler. She has a wonderful husband and baby girl. We invited them over several months ago now for a Sunday dinner and then after many tries they had us over. It again felt good to see old friends. I was friends with her in 8th and 9th grade. It helps you remember who you are and maybe who you wanted to be. My good friend, Samantha, who I have remained friends with since high school- one of the few, who I have stayed friends consistently with, at least, is coming here and staying with us 2 Mondays from now! I am so excited to see her. It has been awhile, not as long as Meg was initially, cause I did see frequently when we lived in KY, but it has been 3 years maybe. So old friends! Such fun!
I need to go. I have been ignoring the kids and I have laundry to be done because tomorrow, cause as you may well know- Saturday is a special day, a day to get ready for Sunday!!!!

My BIG News!!
I wrote this about a week ago and decided to sit on it until we told Matt's family at birthday's .... I am posting now, though! So still feeling yucky and being a bum. I don't know what else I am going to post until i am done being sick cause all I do is lay around, sleep, eat and eat some more! I have gained 5 pounds already! It is sweet! Anyways, here is my big news!
So..... I haven't written in a little while. And it is because something is preoccupying my mind, time, and physical being, and I have decided that I am going to share it cause I don't have much else to talk about. Plus, I feel like I am being fake if I write that is all is great, when maybe I am not. I always have been bad at secrets, and now is no different. And if you read my this then you are in our secret, which I suppose isn't going to a secret much longer.... So have you any idea what my secret is?
So we are pregnant! I am about 8 weeks along. So I think I am due in the very beginning of October, which may turn into Sept.- so that would be 3 in Sept, if that were to happen. It wasn't unexpected becuase we had my IUD taken out between Christmas and New Year's. But it sure did happen quickly- poor Matt. 3 of our 4 have been one and done- my friend is probably correct in saying we are super furtile. But I am happy about it. I am now looking at the kids a little more lovingly.....
It has been exciting, of course.......until the yucky "morning", or more actually all-day sickness set in!!!! I truly thought I wouldn't have any. Which maybe was just dumb thinking. Becuase while I have been sick for all of my kids, each pregnancy was better than the previous, but I have reverted, which hasn't been fun, to say the least. So I have been sick all day long for about a week now. I haven't been throwing up luckily, but just feel sooooooo yucky! And I am eating all the time to try to calm my stomach. Here comes the 55 pounds I like to gain during my pregnancies. Urg...... I have actually felt ok today, for most of the day at least. I don't know why. I have drank a bunch of COKE, which I know you are not suppose to have caffiene, but if it makes me feel good- I DON'T care!
I HATE being sick and have fretted about it since I have become so. Here is why..... When I first told my mom about my pregnancy, after congratulations, she asked, "So are you going to have morning sickness while we are in Florida?" At that time, I hoped not, but alas that is not to be. So I am very worried about spending all this money and then just wanting to lay in the hotel room on the bed! Super! I am just praying that doesn't happen. Although even if I am not sick sick, I know I am not going to be riding a bike around the islands! I know that is cause I seriously out of breathe walking up the stairs! And I am really having a hard time regaining it. Am I THAT out of shape? Jeepers. Will be doing lots of prayering and getting some blessings that I am not sick for the 6 days we are there!!!
So we told the kids, well Carter, Ella was pretty much asleep, tonight that we are having a baby. Carter was excited. He asked what we wanted a boy or girl? We said the very PC answer that either would be super, which truthfully it would! But I would like to go on record as saying I think it is going to be a boy- and we are going to be naming him Truman. Anyways, Carter said he wants a boy AND a girl. Heaven help us if that were the case, although that may explain me being so out of breath. We told Carter it was a secret and not to tell poeple, we will see how well that goes!!! Who knows, maybe he can keep a secret!
So I am telling becuase I have had a really hard time not telling poeple. Not that I want to run up to everyone I see and say, "Guess what? I am pregnant!!!" But when poeple have asked so... what's new? what's going on? I feel like they know and are seeing if I will tell the the truth. I was lying about it when poeple asked me, cause lots of poeple know we have been trying, but Matt was like 'you are lying!'... So I have only been telling poeple when they straight up ask me. And now that I am not feeling well, when poeple ask me how I am what am I suppose to say? Yeah, I am doing great, don't mind me while I lie down. So now, I won't feel like I have to hide it, as much.
And I haven't wanted to tell poeple, surprisingly to what I have written about, becuase when you tell as early as I am, poeple will say at about 35 weeks, you are still pregnant? I thought you would have had that thing like 5 weeks ago!!! THat is what happened with my first pregnancy! I obvioulsy wasn't friends with the kindest, most sensitive poeple. Hopefully that won't be happening this time around.
Anyways, there you go.... now you know. I am sure those of you out there will be hearing a lot more about it in the weeks/months to come!

Birthdays!
Today is Matt's birthday! And man is he old! Well, 3 years older than me and that is all that counts! It has been a quiet birthday, which is suppose how they all are after you reach 16! Anyways.... it is funny, but not haha funny, but funny that today I worked so hard making practically a million cupcakes to bring to Matt's work as a surprise that I am now completely exhausted and in a kinda grouchy mood! Typical.... the cupcakes turned out fabulous, but it all turned out to be a 5 hour event! And I made cupcakes for one of my closest friends whose birthday was yesterday. So like 4 dozen cupcakes in 24 hours! All from scratch, even the frosting. Martha Stewarts Living Magazine in the Febuary one, has the most amazing cupcake recipes! So they all tasted and looked like a million bucks, if I do say so myself. But have left me feeling pooped. If we had money, I would have ordered dinner in cause I didn't want to make it and stand at the kitchen counter any longer. I do feel bad though cause I wanted tonight to be a good one for Matt cause we weren't doing anything super exciting for his birthday- dinner, cake and ice cream and us singing to him was about it- and to not have been be in the most-love-you-you're-the-best-husband-ever mood doesn't make the night even more fun! He even didn't get any exciting gifts- just clothes, which he got this past weekend not wrapped and with the tags still on them. But the kids, with my help, did get him a "World's Greatest Dad" pin to wear at work! Anyways....... probably making it sound much bigger than it is! I do hope he, and he said he did, have a wonderful birthday! Nothing makes you feel better than having poeple remember it is your birthday! And I do love Matt and am grateful to spend another year of his life with him!

Out of the Snow, Into the Sun!
I struggle this time of year with the winter blah's-that is what I am politely calling them when around other people. I get in this yucky, never want to leave the house, only want to eat, really grouchy to my husband phase. So after having a crummy week/weekend and having no patience with anyone, I told Matt I was truly doing crappy! He suggested we try going to St. George for the weekend. Matt's parents have a little 2 bedroom condo down there which we could stay at. The only hiccup was that Matt's parents were snowbirding there and were we going to drive each other crazy for a long weekend in such a small place. Before when it was suggested, I had said yes! But I was desperate to get out of the snow, which was still a foot deep in my front yard, and the cold and smog! If it was too much we could leave first thing Sun. morning!
It helped the week go by quickly, which I was grateful for. We decided not to tell the kids just incase we decided we couldn't go. And we almost decided not too cause Ella got sick on Wed. and Thurs, but luckily seemed mostly over it on Fri. So.... we went!
We left mid morning, much to Matt's dismay becuase we had set a 9 o'clock leave time and he gets bugged if we leave late, even if no one, including everyone else but him, cares when we get there! The car ride, was long enough for sure, but not long enough where I was starting to threated the kids within an inch of their life! That was nice. We got there mid-afternoon and from that point on we didn't do much of anything we didn't want to do! It was awesome! We played some games we brought from home, cause I didn't think they would have too many kids things to do- I also brought coloring books and some regular books to read at bed time! We watched a little tv, we swam in the community pool every day, which the kids loved. Carter and I brought our bikes and so we rode around the neighborhood! That was so fun! I hadn't been able to really try out the bike Matt splurged and bought me for christmas. It was so nice to get out in the 60 degree weather and see how fabulous my bike was. And I was not disappointed! Carter was a little out of shape though, well me too, but at least I didn't have to walk my bike up the hills like he did! That is what a yucky winter does to the best of us! We read books and went for walks. We did a little bit of shopping and ate lunch out at In-And-Out! Matt and I went on a date Friday night! The kids loved being with their Grammi and Grandpa who spoiled them with Lucky Charm cereal and candy and pop tarts when ever they wanted. Grandpa gave enough 'constant kisses' to last until they come home! Even Lincoln loved Grandpa by the end of the trip often reaching his little arms out for more kisses and hugs!
It was really such a wonderful, relaxing, enjoyable weekend! We needed to just get away and hang out and not worry about grocery shopping, or errands, or church stuff. It was awesome! I am so glad to have gone. I think we all were. Ella was crying today that she didn't want to go and asked several times if she could stay with Grammi! It helped my feel better and hopefully get through the next few weeks! And I am hoping it helped me just want to spend more time with my kids cause I had a lot of fun just doing all that little stuff that seems to get brushed aside in the business of keeping house and the family schedule! Carter summed it up best when he said, "This was the best weekend ever!"

Recommitted 3.... well, I think it is 3!
So I am going to recommit myself again... I think to simplify it and make it easier on myself to actually post, I think I will forgo the pictures, unless I just have something incredible to share because I have to say I am not the hugest picture taker and I have felt the need after viewing others blogs to have a picture with every post because they have pictures with every post, and I was feeling the need to keep up! But I did have the slowest interent and so pictures took forever to upload, so I am hoping that if I don't feel the need to include a picture with each post, I may feel more motivated to post! We will see..... maybe one day I will be able to take 'write on blog' off my weekly to do list cause I want to do it rather than feel like I should do it! I hear it is wonderful! I do even know poeple who have 3 blogs! I can't even do one- how can they have 3? Anyways.....Did you notice I said, 'did have the slowest interent'? Some how our internet company sent us a letter saying that we could get faster internet for free!!!! For Free! Nothing is ever free! But our speed is like 10 times faster than before, which was a snails pace, so now we are moving at the speed of a quick worm! It is awesome! Another good reason to recommitt myself for the third time to writing on my blog!
